Jose Mourinho believes that Liverpool has weaknesses that his team can exploit.
The Manchester United boss was speaking at a press conference ahead of their highly anticipated clash on Saturday, where the tactician said, “They are a very good team but they are a very good team with some weaknesses. Weaknesses I don't think is a very strong word because I also use that word in relation to my own team.”
Mourinho continued, “They are not the perfect team. I think they are a very good team and that is why they are where they are in the Premier League, which is difficult. They have qualities and they have weaknesses. We have qualities and we have weaknesses.”
The Special One concluded, “One of my good qualities as a coach was always to know very well my team's weaknesses. Sometimes I try to hide them and sometimes I have to try to compensate for them with other things.”
Superior defense vs Superior offense
Statistics show that United boast of one of the best defenses in the Premier League, having conceded 22 goals in the 29 games they have played so far. Liverpool, on the other hand, boast of the second best offense in the league, having scored 67 goals in as many games.
Many have argued that this match will come down to who of the two can stop the other from doing what they do best - a task that both teams will endeavour to accomplish under the guidance of arguably the best tactical minds in the game - Mourinho and Liverpool chief Jurgen Klopp.
