Under fire, Arsene Wenger has been offered support by his old rival Sir Alex Ferguson.
Wenger led his side Arsenal to a convincing 2-0 win over Ac Milan on Thursday night in Europa League last 16 first leg tie. The Frenchman has claimed former United boss Ferguson, who he had clashed with several time while he was coaching has been there for him during this tough time. Speaking to Sky Sports, Wenger said he is not sleeping well and feels “disastrous” as club’s supporters call for him to quit.
"I have a good relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson at the moment. Sometimes he sends me a message when things don’t go well," said Wenger. "There is a solidarity. I always support other managers where I can. There is no possibility not to suffer. You have to suffer. The difficulty in this job is to be capable to go periods where it very difficult." he added.
Fans have already lost patience with the 68-year-old, who is out of contract by the end of next season and wants him to resign. Wenger, who recently claimed that he is not planning on resigning unless the club sacks him, insists his players have what it takes to get fans back on board.
